What this place is for, what it isn't, and what happens when lines are crossed.
Age requirement
You must be 18 or older to use Reacht. If we become aware of a member under 18, we will terminate their account immediately.
What Reacht is for
Reacht is a place for real conversation between real people. Debate, humor, questions, links, long reads, quick thoughts — anything you'd actually say around a fire with people you respect.
We are not optimizing for volume, virality, or time-on-site. We are optimizing for conversations worth having. That changes what the rules look like.
This community is governed by five principles — The Code: every voice equal, mods act in public, no karma gates, chronological first, disagree with grace. These are not aspirations. They are constraints on everything built here, including moderation itself.
The Code, applied
"Disagree with grace" is not "be nice." You can argue hard. You can challenge premises, ask uncomfortable questions, present evidence that contradicts someone's worldview. The constraint is contempt — treating someone as beneath engagement rather than engaging them.
The line is: argue the idea, not the person. That line is not hard to find in practice. When you cross it, you'll know.
What is never welcome
These are hard lines. No warnings, no context, no exceptions:
Sexual imagery. Sexual imagery of any kind is not permitted on Reacht. This is an absolute prohibition — there are no exceptions for performer consent, age verification, or community-level settings. Sexually explicit or pornographic content will be removed on sight.
Child sexual abuse material (CSAM). Any sexualized content involving minors — images, video, text, fictional or otherwise. This is a federal crime. We will remove this content immediately, permanently ban the account, and report to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) as required by law under 18 U.S.C. § 2258A.
Non-consensual intimate imagery (NCII). Nude or sexual imagery of any person is never permitted on Reacht, under any circumstances — full stop, regardless of consent. Imagery shared without the subject's consent is treated as an additional, especially urgent harm on top of that blanket prohibition. Report immediately.
Credible threats of violence. Specific, plausible threats targeting real people or groups. Not hyperbole. Not fiction. Real threats.
Doxxing. Posting private personal information — home address, phone number, workplace, medical or financial data — without consent.
Hate imagery and incitement. Content designed specifically to dehumanize people based on race, religion, ethnicity, gender, disability, or sexual orientation. Critique is not hatred. Dehumanization is.
Community standards
Below the hard lines, the community governs itself through conversation and transparent moderation. These behaviors are likely to earn warnings or removal, depending on severity and pattern:
Harassment campaigns. Coordinated targeting of a specific person across threads. Sustained contempt aimed at one individual, even without explicit threats.
Spam. Repeated identical posts, mass commercial promotion, or bot-assisted flooding of the feed.
Impersonation. Pretending to be another real person — particularly a public figure or another member — in a way designed to deceive.
Illegal content. Links or files containing malware, pirated commercial software, controlled substance sales, or other clearly illegal material under US law.
These aren't the kind of rules that exist to punish edge cases. They exist because the things listed above make communities worse for everyone. If you're genuinely not sure whether something crosses a line, it probably doesn't. When in doubt: post it.
How moderation works
Every moderation action is logged publicly on the Mod Log. No exceptions. If a moderator removes a post, suspends an account, or issues a warning, it appears in the log. You can see it. You can question it.
Moderators do not make decisions privately. There are no shadow bans. There is no secret list of approved or disapproved accounts. Every action is traceable to a person, a reason, and a timestamp.
If you believe a moderation decision was wrong, say so — in a post, in comments, in a message to the mods. The accountability goes both ways. Moderators can be held responsible for bad calls, and that accountability is built into the structure.
For CSAM and NCII specifically: these skip the normal moderation workflow. Content is removed immediately, the account is permanently banned, and the incident is logged separately. NCMEC CyberTipline submissions are filed automatically.
How to report
Every post, comment, and message has a report option. Use it. Reports go directly to the moderation queue and are reviewed in the order received.
Posts and comments: click the ⋯ menu on the item → "Report"
Messages: click the ⋯ button on an incoming message → "Report message"
Media (images/video): use the "Report media" option in the post menu
CSAM or NCII: use the report flow and select the relevant reason — these are triaged and handled immediately
You are not making a binding judgment when you report. You are flagging something for human review. Report anything that feels off. The moderation team can tell the difference between a bad-faith mass report and a genuine one.
Copyright
Don't post content you don't have the right to post. That means:
Don't copy and paste entire articles, songs, books, or other copyrighted works — quote a passage and link to the source. Brief quotation for commentary or discussion is fair use. Reproducing the whole thing isn't.
Don't repost images, videos, or files you don't own or have permission to share — this applies to photos, artwork, music, and software.
Screenshots and clips for commentary are generally fine — using a small portion of something to discuss, criticize, or parody it is how fair use works. The test is purpose, amount, and effect on the original market.
If you're not sure: link to it, don't copy it.
DMCA Takedown Requests
If you are a copyright owner and believe content on Reacht infringes your work, you may submit a DMCA notice to our designated agent. See our DMCA page for the registered agent's contact information and full notice requirements.
Send DMCA notices to: dmca@reacht.app. Counter-notices may be submitted to the same address. Repeat infringers will have their accounts terminated.
Legal obligations
Reacht is a platform operating under US law. We will comply with valid legal requests — court orders, government subpoenas, and other legal process — where required by applicable law. We do not proactively share member data and will push back on overbroad requests.
We are mandated reporters for CSAM under 18 U.S.C. § 2258A. Any CSAM discovered on the platform is reported to the NCMEC CyberTipline as required by law.
This policy can change. When it does, changes will be announced in the community. The current version is always available at this URL. Material changes will give reasonable notice before taking effect.
