I didn't set out to build a social platform. I set out to find one worth using.

I'd been on the big social platforms for years. I liked the idea of them — communities organized around interests, strangers finding common ground, the sense that somewhere in the noise there was a real conversation happening. But somewhere along the way they stopped feeling like that. Algorithms started deciding what I saw. Karma became a gate. The loudest voices drowned out the quietest ones. And the people running them started making decisions that felt less like stewardship and more like extraction.

I kept waiting for something better to exist. It didn't.

So in June 2026, I built it myself. In two nights. From my phone.

Here's what I wanted to build.

A platform where your voice matters the same as everyone else's from day one — no karma gates, no algorithmic suppression of new accounts, no hidden scores determining whose opinion gets amplified. A platform where the feed runs in chronological order, because I believe you should decide what's relevant, not a machine optimizing for engagement. A platform where moderation is public — every action logged, every decision visible — because transparency is the only real check on power. A platform where you can disagree with someone and the culture rewards you for doing it with grace rather than volume.

We call these principles The Code. Five rules. Equal voices. Public mod log. No karma gates. Chronological feed. Disagree with grace.

They sound simple because they are. The hard part isn't writing them down. The hard part is building a platform that actually enforces them at the structural level — where the architecture itself makes it harder to game the system than to just participate in it.

That's what I spent those two nights building. And the weeks after that hardening, auditing, and preparing for the people who are going to show up and test whether any of this actually holds.

Reacht is named from the Old Irish word for law — what is rightfully yours. Your voice is your reacht. This is where you claim it.
